Eye On Malaysia
I don’t know if I should be proud of this or not.
The Eye On Malaysia (the website still unavailable at this moment I posted this entry) at Titiwangsa Kuala Lumpur has its grand opening at 6th January 2007. 2007 is the year that Malaysia celebrate the 50 years of independence and set year 2007 as the year of Visit Malaysia. They had this really nice and beautiful fireworks. I really love the fireworks. Never seen such beautiful fireworks before.
I did not take the fireworks pictures like I did for the New Year’s fireworks, I suppose Titiwangsa will be damn pack and crowded. But I’ve got some very nice pictures of Eye on Malaysia from Amanda‘s forward mail, those pictures were taken by someone else. Kudos to the person who took these fantastic pictures.

The entire ride will take you 30 minutes to a height of 60 meters. There are 40 gondolas with a capacity of six passengers for each gondola. It cost you (adult) RM15 and RM8 (kids) for a ride.
This Ferris Wheel thing, me as the Malaysian will definitely go for the ride for at least once. Just like I’ve been to the Twin Tower Sky Bridge and KL tower. I certainly hope it is safe for ride as this thing was built in two months weeks.
Lastly, some very nice fireworks pictures.

I watched the fireworks every night (for almost a week) from Hongkiat‘s house. It was not far from Titiwangsa. As much as I love the fireworks, I thought 3 days of the fireworks should be more than enough, but 1 whole week .. Do you really need it to be that grand? Wondering how much the government has spent on fireworks, what about spare some to the flood victims? *Shake Head* That why I said at the beginning, I don’t know I should be proud of this or not.
For more information, you just need to google a bit on the keywords “Eye On Malaysia”, you will get tons of info. Have fun.

For a moment, I was very proud and I gave my full support to our Government in promoting our country to the world! Ok, I still do. I am just very annoyed, frustrated and I couldn’t tolerate with the whole road system works!
Going back home is a pain in the arse and neck, everywhere of my body! It’s mental draining that I couldn’t go home with the normal routes. All my usual route to home was closed and I was forced to do a big detour from Jln Tun Razak entering Jln Semarak and back to Jln Genting Klang – Jln Pahang. If you know roads well in Setapak you’ll know how ridiculous and how unfair it is to the residents who stay around there!
Fireworks is on for 10 days consecutively from 6 Jan. Those who missed it can still catch it on the next 3 nights. yeah, thanks to us – the taxpayers’ monies! Oh well, our government has allocated this in the budget. Funds for adversities are allocated somewhere else in the budget, no?
Anyway, enjoy the fireworks as it’s all been paid!!! HARD EARNED MONEY!
And PLEASE – TAKE THAT “EYE ON MALAYSIA” DOWN ON 31 DEC 2007!!!!!

I totally not support this idea, since most of the foreigner visit to Malaysia is because of the beaches, forests and other nature destination, but not this. Other places in the world already had this kind of thing (Japan, England, Taiwan,China etc, which are much more bigger than ours!!), why we want to follow all this countries?? Did the relevant authority “模糊焦點” already, do you thing the tourist like this?? Why not spend more money to promote all the others interesting places!!!

meekie: hahaha, yea.. i totally understand ur pain.. I experienced that when I use the jln pahang to go in Sentul!
Paris beaverbanks: haha, not for whole year ler.. if whole year.. i guess everyone in malaysia would have jumping from twin tower already. :p Yup, read ur post !
saygore: Woooppss.. sorry for the wrong info. Corrected! Every night starting 8.30, sometimes 9.30. Catch it while still can.. :)
earl: but still, i will go for at least once.. before it is taking down. :)
ahmoi: exactly! haha… but it was an idea to promote malaysia la.. thou it was not a brilliant one. They even invest dunno-how-many-n-millions RM for the high-tech toilet at bukit bintang.. that one was totally lagi bullshit!

I would neither be proud nor ashamed at anything that my government does since I an NOT the one who is doing it. I would only be proud or ashamed at what I do, not what somebody else does unless I am their teacher or mentor. Sometimes, I guess it’s okay to be proud of a friend. My government is doing some terrible things but that’s on them. I voted against the ones who are doing it but the majority of American people wanted those people in office, so they will be there until at least the next election.
P.S. That’s a magnificent Ferris Wheel. :) :D

even if not for the flood, those $$ can be channeled to somewhere else.. for example, improve the roads & traffic, subsidise the toll, prevent petrol price increasing.. then less traffic jam, taxi driver oso no need spend more thus less likely to resolve into trickery to earn more from tourists..
traffic nice, taxi drivers nice, easier to go ‘gai gai’, tourists happy ^^ we all oso happy kekekeke ^^
