My First Adsense Cheque

Finally, eventually, at last, I got my first ever adsense cheque. All the way from US of A!

I hit the first 100 bucks on December 2006. Then Google issued my cheque on January. And I got the cheque before Chinese New Year. Pretty high up. :p

At least I smell some greens. Although it’s not some hard earn money, but it is some extra funding for my year end trip. I am going to shop till I drop. Kakaka.

My second hit to USD 100 is approaching too. I am excites (Borat way) to receive my second cheque from Google.

To my friends who are still having doubts of adsense is not going to work on their blog, think again! Learn from the pro on how to allocate your adsense. You might be amazed by the result.

After I got my cheque, I make a little survey asking around about the bank charges on foreign bank cheque.

1.CIMB – Earl Ku said he bank in his cheque here, the charges only RM10. I don’t have account in this bank, did plan to open one there just to make this as my year end trip funding account, but for some personal reasons, I guess I have to delay this plan. :p

2. RHB BankRM 15.15 for cheque less than USD 5000. I called up the customer service to check on the charges. Encountered super bad service from this bank. I was the saving account holder for more than 10 years. They have this centralised customer call center where you need to press this press that before you can talk to the operator, which was totally fine for me, at least I’ll be talking to the correct person for my matters.

I reached to this operator, I asked her about the charges, she seems not too sure about it, she put me to listen to music while she went and check on the rates. Then I waited about 5 minutes, she returned and tell me she will find out the rates for me and will call back me later.

A moment later, she called back and ask me how much I wanna bank in, because there are different rates/charges for different amount. After I told her the exact amount of the cheque, she put me to the music again… I was listening to the music for (I look at my hp, stated there – talking time 12.00 mins, and still ticking) Yea, 12 mins… she haven return. I hung up the call, pissing me off.

If she cant get the rate, why bother to call back?

And few minutes later, she called for the 3rd time, saying sorry to me because the line got cut off. Me:”Off coz, I hang up the call!”, She sound blur and say “Our system showed that the line was cut off.” She sound like she dont understand, and repeat the same thing after I repeat I blardi hung up the call.

Ok, finally I got the rate. You can bank in your foreign cheque by using the cheque deposit machine. Don’t have to go to counter, they will still point you to the machine.

3. Public BankMin charges will be RM20 and max RM100, depends on how much is the cheque. You gotto bank in at the counter. The customer service was efficient. It took me 2 mins to get the rate, unlike RHB Bank took me more than 30 mins.

I am not sure about other bank, as I din check it one by one. Feel free to call up and ask, you can just skip RHB bank.

Guess what, I bank in my cheque at RHB Bank. -.-!!

Never mind, the next cheque I will bank in at different bank.
