I Cook Tom Yam Fried Rice
Haha, if you have been following my blog for long enough, you should have noticed I never cook so much. Not that I cant cook, but I just never treat cooking as my hobby. :p
Everyone who eat my mom’s tom yam fried rice before, they know this one is great one. In fact, my mom is a great chef. So I decided to learn a bit from her, since fried rice is not very hard to learn.
It’s indeed very easy to learn up. I can cook it anytime I want now.
Just prepared th below ingredients. Easy and simple one.

Ingredients (For 2 person’s meal.)
1. Luncheon Meat – I like luncheon meat, so I took half of the can.
2. White rice – take as much as you like, does not matter. In my case, I take around 3 bowl.
3. Onion – I only cut 1 onion.
4. Oil – I put 4-5 full spoon. I am sure you can estimate it yourself.
5. The most important ingredient – The tom yam paste.

I’ve never try other brand’s tom yam paste, I always like this brand only, even cooking tom yam soup.
Cooking method, very easy.
1. First, you pour the oil and let it cook. Then cook the onion and luncheon meat. It’s like pre-fried them.

2. After ‘kacau’ the onion and luncheon meat for a while, you put around 1.5 full spoon of the tomyam paste. (that’s my estimation)

3. Stir well especially the tom yam paste. It might be still in pieces.
4. Pour in the white rice. Start doing exercise, fried it. Make sure all the rice reach the paste.

5. Fried it for like 10mins, the fried rice should be ready.
Ta Dang! My tom yam fried rice!

You can try it yourself. Very easy, if noob like me can cook, you sure can. I am sure you can be creative and add on your own ingredient.
Hongkiat always eat the fried rice with cili padi. This fried rice is not that spicy, so it’s totally up to you if you wanna add in the cili padi when cooking it. Make it hot! Hehe.
Really yummy one.

My mom and I prefer another brand. Used to be only available in Thailand, but they started distributing here. I don’t actually know the name, but it comes in a similar glass jar with a blue metal cap. It has a Thai lady’s face as the logo.
Very nice for making fried rice, spread on bread. Basically cooking anything and making it taste thai-ish. If you want, I’ll take a pic of the jar and send it to you.
