See Ghost!
My camera is haunted! Help!

I don’t know what happen to my camera, it suddenly became like this. No matter what mode I put, the outcome still the same. If taking picture with the Flash on, it’s even worst! Everything became white color!
Then my friend try snap a picture of me, and ta dang! YOU ALL SEE GHOST!

Oi, this time no edit one hor. The lines, the exposure, the color all original one.
Anyone got any idea what happen to my camera? I never drop my camera loh, battery okay one (sometimes overcharge – because I leave it charging overnight but it’s not frequent la), lenses no problem lo. Seriously all of sudden it became like that. Is it some setting problem? But I never change any setting wo. The lines are ‘generated’ just like that.
My camera only 1 year 3 months old. :( Wanna cry liao la.
I KNOW IT’S THE 7th Month la!!!! HOW?????
p/s: I realized that my ‘non-physical cely’ look is damn ugly till I really don’t want to admit that’s me. Please don’t quit being my friend because I am that ugly. I promise I will gambate on slimming down and put more effort in ‘fixing’ my face complexion.

This happened to my old Canon digital camera. The image sensor chip (dun know what it’s called) spoil already, and I had to send back to Canon for servicing. For your Casio, perhaps you can google and see if any other users have the same problem. In any case, it’s probably a hardware problem. Need to send for servicing.

About those people complaining about the purple thing in Canon cameras… it’s quite a common problem. That’s why I will never buy another Canon ever again.

Hi Cely…I’m using Canon Powershot A430 (bought in April 2006, so same age as your camera)…but so far my camera no problem, no purplish thing whatsoever…i trust canon coz my previous camera was a canon prima zoom (analogue camera)…been using canon every since…i suggest better send for servicing at canon authorized dealer…is it still under warranty?
anyway since u r gonna get a new camera may i suggest getting a DSLR? it’s got variable shutter speed and variable aperture value (features that my camera seriously lacks!)…then u can give me your old camera loh :P

i’m a casio digicam user too… had been and used to it’s interface for many many years d… r satisfied all this while… if i’ll be getting a new digicam, it will oso be a casio… hehe… cely, why not just take it to de casio service center and get it check before getting a new model?
last time my fren dropped my digicam and de screen are not align properly d… i bring it to de service center and got it fixed… FOC even de warranty term had expired… no harm to try it… =)

haha me either i also don’t know how to use DSLR, but i would like to start off with the canon kit lens… all i want is the PASM modes to play with…
i think your old cam just need a little bit of servicing… but i guess it is good time to upgrade anyway… if i had the money i would go for DSLR straight away… compact really has limited features… compact no good for night photography

Pentax can take very good and sharp photo if u know how to use it.
my canon always makes me very frustrated.then borrow my bf’s pentax.
But i think canon gives good warranty service lah, i bought it from canon itself and the receptionist told me don’t need to chop/send the warranty card, just bring back if there is problem and they will fix it.

Dear Cely,
I have a camera exactly the same as yours. It is the CCD problem. Just bring it together with your warranty card (did u buy or have extended warranty by the camera shop?) to ur camera shop, and they will send it to Casio to Fix. If u have entended warranty it is free. If u dont have extended warranty, then have to pay
cely
on September 11th, 2007
Sharon: Thanks for telling, but my warranty already expired. Haih… i’ll still ask if the shop can fix it… then depends how much they charge…

There is 1 batch of cameras including Canon is using Sony Hardware which have this problem.
It would be good to go to the Casio Service Center directly, if that part is fitted to your model, you can get it fix without paying coz the cost will be bear by Sony Factory
Sometimes if you bring ur camera to a cold weather country also will get this symptoms.
I did help my friend to get his Canon Camera fix without paying. Try google or check in Casio Website for Information
