It has been sometime since I blogged here, no thanks to my slightly busy schedule for the past few weeks. Anyway, I wanted to blog this at my blog, however, I don’t want to get myself into trouble if any of the authorities read and report to the relevant people.
After squeezing out whatever I have read for the past few days for my mid term paper, I decided to hand up 15 minutes earlier as I don’t see any point in sitting there and yet not writing anything. I stood up, walked towards my lecturer and handed him my paper.
While I was signing my attendance, he called me softly.
“You don’t know the answer for this? (Question: Give an example of a super scalar processor.) You got the meaning right, go think about it.”
I took my paper and sat down, thinking what was the answer.
“Intel Pentium 4 Core 2 Duo is something that fits exactly the super scalar processor. But I don’t remember me reading about this in the lecture notes nor any example was given,” I “talked” to myself.
Few minutes later, the lecturer walked over and looked at my answer sheet.
“Ah. What’s the most popular processor manufacturer currently?”
“Intel.”
“Whats their processor name and latest version?”
“Pentium 4 Core 2 Duo.”
“There you go.”
Dumbfounded, I quickly wrote down my answer.
Then, he pointed at a graph.
“You don’t know the answer for this? The forwarding technique?”
“……” *shaking my head*
“Never mind.” *takes my pencil and started to draw four lines on the graph*
“Just connect this to this, that to that and you got the answer. Write it down in your answer sheet.”
“Thank you.”
Flabbergasted, I was.
He’s probably the best lecturer that have ever taught me.
