Discover Hong Kong Day 3
Yay! It’s Macau Day! I guess it’s another round of picture showering time! Haha…
Initially plan to go Macau for only half day, then come back Hong Kong to continue shopping. But, things always turn out to be opposite! Hehe.
Okay, we finally experienced what Hong Kong people always do - Yum Char! Oh, their yum char is totally different from what we always did - yum char (at mamak), their one is yum char - chinese hot tea and dim sum.
There was a Dao Xiang Dim Sum Restaurant around our hotel. So, we woke up early thinking to queue up for the dim sum. (Because the day before, we went there and found a long queue, it was around 11am, I guess we were too late.) But we got lucky, we didn’t queue for long (It was around 9am), like about 5 minutes before we were brought to our table. Shiok.
The environment was pretty typical. A lot of old folks. A lot of people sharing table with strangers.

See how they separated the 2 customers by folding up the table cloth.
We’ve order quite a lot. I suppose more than what 2 people can consumed! Haha.

Siew Mai

Gun Tong Gao

Char Siew Bao.

Shark Fin

Chu Cheong Fun

Porridge

Ha Gao.
A lot right???

Guess how much we pay? Hmm, around HKD 110. Was not that expensive.
Then we took MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui station, look for the China Ferry Terminal. Bought ferry tickets (New World First Ferry) to Macau. One way ticket (TST -> Macau) was HKD 133.

I finally got one more stamp in my passport - Macau! Haha
Taking ferry to Macau will take approximately one hour.

Actually when you come out from terminal and custom, there will be shutter bus taking you to the hotel you wanna go, free of charge. But we did not know that, so we took cab to Venetian Macao Resort Hotel (At Taipa, another island but was not very far away.)

Casino was behind me! Hehe.

If you wanna take the ‘boat ride” and take closer picture with the venetian, you gotto pay. I forgotten how much, but it’s not worth one.
Since we were already in casino, we just try our luck gamble a bit. Ho ho ho! Well, did win, not much. At least the ferry tickets la. 2 way oh! Hehe.
We then take cab back to visit the famous church - The Ruins of Saint Paul’s (大三巴). We always see this church in the Hong Kong drama series! :)
On the way to The Ruins of Saint Paul’s …

Then we went and bought the Macau famous pork burger, Portuguese egg tart and Milk Tea! The milk tea and Egg tart was great, but pork burger… no good. So plain and so ordinary! Any burger will taste nicer than that. Maybe I bought it from the wrong stall gua.

After the light meal, we took ferry back to Hong Kong. This time we took Turbojet which was going to the Central instead of TST China Ferry Terminal.

At first, plan to go to Central and Causeway bay for shopping. But we were too tired and HongKiat also meeting friend for dinner.
After 1 hour of ferry trip, we reached hotel. Took shower, rest a while. We went to MongKok to meet Hongkiat’s friend, Ray. He took us to Royal Plaza Hotel -La Scala Restaurant for buffet dinner. Buffet there was great till I forgot to take pictures.

Erm, the food was nice. A lot of food, western, chinese food, indian food, japanese food, ice cream (Haagen Dazs oh), fruit juice, coffee, tea, dessert, etc etc. Full until …………….
Besides food, it was great to meet someone local. Ray was nice and friendly. He foot the bill because we are friends from far. Hehehe. Thanks Ray.
Friends, stay tuned for my next post! Disneyland OH!!!! WInnie the Pooh!!!

Heard a lot of ppl comments said the Disneyland isn’t so worth. Too expensive and adults might not so enjoy in there.. instead of children to meet those cartoon and characters.
How much is the buffet dinner? Looks good. :-)
The dim sum are very attractive! If I go I might order more.. haha.. sure eat until full full! HK Dim Sum.. mouth watering..

Cely, can u advise which ferry is better?
cely
on September 11th, 2008
HedyC: Depends on where you wanna board. Both ferries that I took also okay one. Not much different. Price also about the same.
Plan your trip in advance and make sure you know where to board :)
Remember to visit their (the ferry company) website for more information. Especially where they board and alight. :)

Cely : Thanks for your prompt reply. If i board from Sheung Wan, is the port very far from MTR?
cely
on September 12th, 2008
HedyC: Nope. If i remember correctly, the MTR station of Sheung Wan is just around the port. The signboards are everywhere, you wont miss it one. :)
