Bangkok is so fun!
So, here we go for day 2 shopping and visiting at Bangkok.
Visiting the Coconut Farm
Before we fly to Bangkok, Sheryl has already booked a tour to the floating market. There is a van waiting for us at our hotel early in the morning (around 7am) to bring us to the floating market. According to the local tour guide, it will take us to the floating market which is 1 hour away from our hotel.
On the way to floating market, this tour guide brought us to some Coconut farm. Very commercialize. Obviously they have deals with the farm.

Things that made from Coconut

Made from coconuts too

Coconut Flower

Made from the coconut flowers. Taste very sweet. It's brown sugar like that.
Kinda bored visiting there. It’s not something we expected. We thought we could straight away go to floating market.
Visiting the Floating Market
After staying at the coconut farm for about 30 minutes, we finally make our way to the Floating Market.
There is a boat ride included in the tour package. A boat ride to the floating market. I would say this is quite an interesting experience for us.

The starting point

At the boat ride to Floating Market

Along the way~

Beautiful weather!

Really love the combination of blue sky, river and floating house.

Reach the Floating Market
I love the boat ride. It’s so interesting. You get to see what is surrounding, you are able to imagine how the local people live ‘on’ the river, what they do for living.
I only see tourist walking around the floating market. The rest (local) are all sellers or tour guides. You know you should not be too obssessed with what they are selling you. We are here to experience, to see only.

Souvenir

We have a simple meal there. Seems like noodle soup is everywhere and it’s selling really cheap. We all love the herbal soup and the chili flakes.

Floating Noodle Stall

I love noodle soup!

We all know Mango is so famous in Thailand

Floating Kopitiam! Hehe

Interesting cashier

Some local snack

Serious Traffic jam

Sooooooo many boats!

We stayed there for about 1 hour. I would like the floating market is quite fun la. But I will only go for 1 time. The next time I go Bangkok, floating market will not in my itinerary anymore. One time visit is more than enough :)

Taken this on the way back to Hotel
We decided to continue shopping at Platinum mall after the Floating Market tour. Before that, we need to take our lunch.
We then settle our lunch at the hotel’s cafe.

Tom Yam Gung!
I learned that Tom Yam Gung means Tom yam seafood. And it’s not spicy!!!!!!

The street. Platinum Mall.
We happily shop at platinum mall for the whole afternoon. I even forget to take pictures of the shops. I bought quite a lot from Platinum Mall.
Then We take our dinner at MBK. But I don’t find MBK interesting. It’s big but.. kinda smelly, for no reason.

We took MRT to Siam Paragon area again
After whole day of walking, we need foot massage. But me and Sheryl decided to do pedicure and manicure. Hongkiat went for oil massage! He sibeh know how to enjoy!

This lady patiently do my toe nails!
I did not take a picture of the final work, because my hands and foot are not nice. Don’t wanna spoil everyone’s eyes. :p

2nd day of shopping!
Well, you have actually viewed 50 pictures. That’s for my day 2 at Bangkok. Now proceed to day 3.
Our flight back to Singapore is at 8pm. Therefore we still have plenty of time to do our last minute shopping! We check out early in the morning, deposit our luggage at hotel and head to Platinum mall again.
The guys also find platinum mall is a good shopping place. Unbelievable lor!

The famous Platinum Mall

We take lunch at KFC. Had something I never eat at KFC.

Interesting Outfit of the staff

Pop corn squid!

Spicy drumlet

Very spicy but taste a bit too salty

Mango Sticky Rice.

After hours of shopping at Platinum Mall. Sheryl brought us to an amazing supermarket at Siam Paragon. According to her, it’s really amazing. I agreed after that.

My favourite Milo.

Cute can of espresso

Handy Packaging of Orange Juice

OMG, so slim!!

Simply love the arrangement of everything in the supermarket

Bread without the skin!

Cute tissue packaging! We bought a few!

Very neat lo the arrangement

Colorful rice

Fried Banana

Long Hotdog

Pork Ball

Prawn Cheong Fun

When we queue to pay, the staff there actually ask for our passport (as he know we are tourist) to get the tourist card. We get 5% discount for everything we buy at Siam Paragon. So kind of him because none of us know we could get discount.

One the way back to Hotel

We booked a limo to send us to Airport

At Bangkok Airport

Aiya, still not oeverweight! Disappointing
Our luggage did not get overweight! Jetstar allow 20kg per person, here are 3 luggage’s weight.

After check-in.

Last meal at Bangkok

Tom Yam Gung Again!

Beep noodle for the last time

I dowan to go back home!

Back to Singapore!
It was a fun trip. I spent like nobody business. Just grab the clothes that I like without trying it. I still left 200 baht after spending so much.
Generally, girls are pretty and skinny there. They dress up and put on makeup as if going on date! You can’t tell the difference between us (non-thai) and them (thai). We all look alike. Like chinese. Like Malay. Whenever I walk into a shop, they speak Thai with me, it’s like telling me got discount or something.
They are very polite too. I didn’t hear a single horn even the traffic is so bad. You should know the tut tut driver is very fierce, but no one horn. People greet you, smile at you. Maybe they can tell we are tourist. But You feel good to be treated this good.
I feel bad for what is happening now at Bangkok. Hopefully the situation gets better and airport will reopen real soon.
I am glad that we could make this trip happen in such short preparation.
By the way, this post consist of 104 pictures. Hope you enjoy them as I spent hours of editing pictures and writing the post.
