Taiwan Trip Part 1
My trip started on 28th March 2009.
It was a morning flight, 8.35am from Singapore to Taiwan. It was a 4 hours and 10 minutes flight.
Therefore we arrived at Changi Airport 3 hours before the flight and had our breakfast there.

It was my first time taking SQ and I enjoyed the flight. I think the seat was more spacious than all the previous flights. Shall consider taking SQ again when taking longer flight. :p

I always like to look out window to see the sky. It’s very happy to see sea of clouds. :)
Reach Taiwan Taoyuan Airport around 12.45pm.

I quickly search for the shuttle bus counter which provide the bus service that will bring us to hotel from airport. Take bus was a lot cheaper than taking cab. I learned this from the forum. :)

Freego was the bus we took. Cost us only NT140 per person. Cheap cheap. Journey was about 1 hour.
It was raining a little when we arrived at Taipei. Weather was cold like heaven. I seldom experience such cold weather. It was about 17 degree Celsius.

We then check in to the hotel, TS Hotel at Ximending. It was just 2 minutes walk to Ximen Mrt Station. Very convenient.
The first thing we did shortly after we checked in to our room was to look for food. Mind you, it’s already almost 2.30 pm. Lunch time leh.
Not very sure what to eat, we decided to try our luck nearby the hotel. We found this old small restaurant at street behind the hotel, selling noodles.

Guess what, all these food cost us less than NT100. Cheap. I know the portion is not big also la. But they were enough for me. Hehehe.
After the lunch, still raining. We did not go anywhere as HK’s mom and sis are arriving soon. We decided to rest at hotel room.
There were a lot of channels on the TV. Both of us enjoy watching TV whenever we arein the room. The bed also very comfortable. Basically the room was clean, smells good and they provide good service. Okay okay, you can get the rest of the information on the website. Whatever stated in the website are things you get. :) I like this hotel.

After HK’s mom and sis arrived at the hotel, get changed and we head to Shilin Night Market. One of the must visit place in Taipei.
It was still raining. It was not heavy. But it’s enough to wet the floor and make us all sien to walk under the rain.
As per expected, the night market was crowded. I guess we started at the wrong end because we did not see much stalls selling food. Most of them selling cloths, shoes and all the little stuff.
Finally we saw some stall selling food, we just simply ordered and make it our dinner. We tried fried oyster, ‘or a meeshua’, ru rou fan, big sausage etc etc.

Fried Oyster. No good.

Big sausage. Very good. :)

This is Sotong soup. They call it 花枝羹.

Pork belly soup, I liked my mom’s version a lot better. This one basically tasteless. I guess we used to the pepper version. This one does not have pepper one.

The rain was getting heavier as we walked. It definitely spoil our mood. Therefore we decided to call it a day.
If it was not raining, I could have spend longer there. But I did not go for second time. I thought there are more night markets in Taipei. I don’t have to visit the same night market for 2 times.
At the end of the day, I would like say I love the weather. Not the raining part, but the cold weather. No sweat, no hot sun. Haha.
I am going to split this trip into few posts. Not fun to load my pictures like mad using streamyx. hehe.

豪大大鸡排 is just located at the front of food court. Normally you will see a long queue if the weather is good.

Hi Ling,
Ta Shun and East Dragon itself also about 1 min away from the XMD station. So, XMD station is in between Ta Shun and East Dragon. :) They are just diff exit. :)
But walking around there with luggage wont be big problem la :) Maybe u can consider to leave ur big luggage at Ta Shun, just bring little stuff to east dragon.
If you stay at east dragon before ta shun.
