Blair is 16 weeks old
My breast milk supply has been dropping. I’ve been pumping only 2 times a day – before and after work. I’ve made this decision before I go back to work as I find it not convenient to pump at work. Firstly, there is no empty room at office, moreover I based at client’s office. Secondly, I find it not hygiene to pump at toilet, although my colleague did that before. Thirdly, pumping will require at least 30 minutes, I certainly do not hope to hear people complaining about me missing from work every 3-4 hourly. It’s not excuses, it’s reasons.
Anyway, Blair has not been fussy about the major switch from breast milk to formula. We have been using formula (S26) as supplement when I have not enough milk for her. The transition from 20% formula to 80% took about 1 week. She has been really good girl.
Brought Blair to her first hair cut on 11th June. We have not shave her during her full moon. Just didn’t want her to be hairless, that’s all. But in order to let her hair grow into better style/shape, we decided to trim her hair.
Blair was so sleeping during the hair cut. She was alright for the first 5 minutes, then she started to scream when the stylist trimming her hair. As a result, her hair were everywhere, on her and me. I was holding her. Hehe.
And now, she looks like a boy with squarish face ;p
I’ve been training her to sleep thru the night since she was a month old. I feed her in the room with light’s off and put her to sleep with absolute quiet room. She started to sleep thru the night with 4 hours stretch. Then 6 hours stretch by 7 weeks old. And now, 7-8 hours long before I feed her again. She will now sleep at around 8-9pm with one bottle of milk, then 5-6am for another feed. I am not sure how long this will last, but let’s hope it can last. At least this is good for me to have a proper rest for the night. But I gotto wake up early everyday, it’s hard to sleep back after feeding her because I’ll need to pump and prepare to go work.
The minus point would be I have really little time to play with her during working days. I leave home to work before she wakes up, then I reach home about 7pm and she would be tired around 8-9pm. I miss the days when I was still on maternity leave where I can be with her all day and night!
Besides missing my precious Blair, I miss my dear also. Since Blair was born, we have been busy with her and spending lesser time for each other. I hope everything will be better as time goes by.
Happy Father’s Day to my dearest hubby!
He dare not carry her for long as he thinks babies are fragile. He worry he will somehow injured baby’s neck with wrong position. Haha. I guess he has to wait for another 2 months before he can carry Blair.
Blair loves to kick the red color soft toy doggie. We thought of hanging there for her to play with it but she decided to kick it instead.
I have recorded it in video. It’s fun to see her kicking it. :D
I hope she can start holding something already. She can’t even hold her handkerchief for 2 minutes. But she always wanted to help me hold her bottle. It’s cute that she wanted to ‘help’!
She has not been wearing dress frequently. It’s not necessary. But we are bringing her out more often so she need to be dressed up a little bit. Her aunt Stacey bought her a dress from Taiwan.
I can’t help to buy her few more dresses! Hahaha.
She looks a bit mature in black. :p I have one similar dress. Black color dress with hot pink base.
We have signed up swimming lesson for her. I hope she loves it. She seems pretty enjoy at first lesson but not 2nd lesson. Well, technically it’s not swimming. More like playing water in a big tub (for her). She will move around her hands and legs, like she is swimming. The water is warm at 35 degree.
I’ve been updating facebook more frequent than my blog. Haha. I will try to update my blog more often! I need to promise to myself! :p
Dear Blair, today you are officially 16 weeks old, I wish you grow up healthily. Yes, only 1 wish. Nothing else more important than that. You were brave yesterday to have 2 injections at one go!
